Permanent makeup lip treatments are a simple, beautiful way to emphasise the natural shape of your lips, or restore the shape, definition, and colour that has been lost over time as we age and collagen breaks down.

From creating perfect symmetry to contouring for a subtly plumped effect, the result is incredibly youthful and flattering. I offer a wide range of natural as well as vivid colours to perfectly suit any complexion.

As a permanent makeup specialist based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, I focus entirely on creating bespoke, natural-looking results.

What is the process?

Once you are thoroughly numbed, we choose a pigment that matches your natural skin tone and compliments your complexion. Some clients even bring their favourite lippy along as a guide for us to match up to!
I map out your lip shape using various professional tools, including white thread, white paste, and mineral setting powder. It’s important to note that I cannot work outside of your natural vermillion border (unless it is for a medical reason).
You lay back and relax while I create your bespoke lip treatment using a state-of-the-art permanent makeup machine and single-use needles.
You sit up and see your new lip shape and colour. The lips do usually swell a little (and in rare cases, quite a bit), but this usually subsides after a few hours.
It’s important to understand that at this first appointment, I work very conservatively. Less is always more; we can always add more depth next time.
Full aftercare advice is given, and you leave with your personal aftercare pack and an appointment to return six to ten weeks later.
Between days 5 and 6, small micro-scabs will gently exfoliate away. We’ve created tiny wounds which the body is naturally healing. It’s important to note that during this healing phase, you must avoid spicy foods and kissing!

It’s becoming an ever more popular procedure for both men and women. It is chosen for several reasons, including by those who have lost the natural definition of their vermillion border, have allergies to traditional cosmetics, poor eyesight, unsteady hands, experience smudging in the heat, or simply want to save the precious time spent reapplying lippy throughout the day!
I can recommend some anti-viral medication to get from the chemist or your GP. This will limit the chance of an outbreak, and is usually taken a week prior to and post your lip appointment. It’s important to note that lip tattooing does not cause the cold sore virus, but the use of needles causing mild trauma to the lip tissue can trigger them if the virus is already lying dormant in your body. It's a little bit like how the sun can trigger them.
Some clients say it feels a little scratchy just at the beginning, but not pain as such. I use highly effective numbing agents to keep you comfortable.
I suggest leaving two hours for your appointment from start to finish.
All treatments are a two-part process and will require a complimentary top-up session no sooner than six weeks, and no later than 10 weeks, after your initial appointment.
On average, anywhere from 12 to 24 months. This is dependant on several factors, including your skin health, underlying health conditions, and any medications you may be taking.
